Chicago Five-O provides Class A and Class B building owners and managers with the highest standard of career-oriented security and safety personnel who are exceptionally trained, motivated and managed in the cutting edge techniques and programs relating to security, safety and customer service. We employ more than 50 unarmed security officers and augment our team with off-duty police officers and fire fighters on an as-need basis.
Chicago Five-O’s senior management has nearly 60 years of combined security and law enforcement experience with diverse backgrounds in education, management, law and organizational skills. As a Chicago Five-O client you will have personal contact on a weekly basis, or as needed, with an executive staff member to ensure all your security needs are addressed.
Heading up the Chicago Five-O management team is Elias Voulgaris, who brings nearly 40 years of experience in law enforcement, security and emergency management. A veteran of the Chicago Police Department retiring with the rank of Commander, Mr. Voulgaris served as the CPD’s liaison to Chicago’s Office of Emergency Management and Communications, where he was involved with initiatives associated with emergency management and planning, including for active-shooter incidents, cyber-security response and incidents at large public venues.
He is a certified Weapons of Mass Destruction Technician and a crisis intervention trained officer. Mr. Voulgaris attended the FBI National Academy, West Point Leadership Program for Law Enforcement and the Senior Management Institute for Police. He holds a master’s degree in Public Administration.
Joining Mr. Voulgaris in the management of Chicago Five-O is Spiro Maglaras. A 25-year veteran (15 years as a sergeant) of the Chicago Police Department (CPD), Mr. Maglaras has extensive experience in gang enforcement and vice. During his tenure on the force, he provided security service for the 2008 Presidential Rally held in Grant Park and the Chicago-based 2012 NATO Summit. The CPD has recognized him for valor, problem-solving, crime reduction, and saving a human life that involved exceptional courage or performance. Mr. Maglaras holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and government from the University of Illinois, Chicago.
Mr. Voulgaris and Mr. Maglaras have received high-level training in security operations and management, including on homeland security, counterterrorism, critical incident and response management and weapons of mass destruction. Chicago Five-O security officers benefit from this extensive level of training and broad knowledge.
The combination of experience, leadership and dedication ensures clients they are partnering with one of the most highly trained, well-informed security staffs in the Chicago Metropolitan area.
At the heart of Chicago Five-O’s quality assurance program is a team of dedicated Account Managers who work on a daily basis with client management staff and security directors. Account Managers are involved in all phases of a client’s operation, as appropriate, and report directly to Chicago Five-O’s senior management.
The key to a successful security program is consistency and accountability. Both are achieved through quality supervision. Chicago Five-O places a great deal of emphasis on ensuring each client receives consistent quality service by accountable individuals—leading to a successful security program.
Our supervisory team includes roving security managers who provide immediate response to occurrences and provide Chicago Five-O management with information regarding the performance of the security officers assigned to a specific site. Chicago Five-O’s quality assurance program uses incentive and motivational activities to ensure a high level of performance and compliance with company, industry and state standards and requirements.
All Chicago Five-O supervisors meet rigid training standards prior to assignment. In addition to basic security training, they successfully complete supervisory training that pertains to their assigned worksite. Our supervisory personnel also receive management training on topics such as public speaking, developing and writing post instructions and advanced customer service with an emphasis on problem solving.
